Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music celebrates 48 years; ready to take the stage after weeks of rehearsal
KAMLOOPS — Three weeks of rehearsals and lessons are about to conclude under the stage lights as hundreds of young musicians prepare for their final performances. Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM) is celebrating another successful summer of learning through musical expression, running since 1978, and finishing off the 48 year where instruments and vocal notes could be heard reverberating off the corridors.
For nearly five decades, KISSM has brought aspiring musicians together each July, giving children and teens the chance to explore everything from band and choir to songwriting and musical theatre.
This summer, about 260 students have spent the past three weeks building new skills.
