Caution urged during National Drowning Prevention Week following recent spike in preventable deaths
KAMLOOPS — It’s National Drowning Prevention Week across Canada and provincial officials are urging vigilance around the water after a spike in drowning deaths in the last few months.
As temperatures increase, so too do the warnings about water safety – and in Kamloops, it’s no different.
“If you can’t swim, wear a life jacket and you know, swim at Riverside Park,” Josh Cowen, the life safety educator at Kamloops Fire Rescue, told CFJC Today.
