TNRD to host electoral area director candidates info session

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) is getting ready to host an information session for to share details about the TNRD and the roles of an Electoral Area Director with potential candidates.

The info session will happen on on Wednesday, July 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the TNRD Civic Building Boardroom, which is on the fourth floor of the building at 465 Victoria Street in Kamloops.

The TNRD said staff will share a presentation with general information for candidates followed by a question and answer session. The presentation will include the following topics:

• What to expect before, during, and after the election.
• Key election legislation and regulations.
• Important dates.
• Candidate nomination processes and requirements.
• Voting and taking office.
• Responsibilities of elected officials.
• Compensation and expected time commitments.
