TNRD issues evacuation alert near Green Lake due to Tin Cup Creek wildfire
70 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) has issued an evacuation alert for 12 properties along a portion of North Bonaparte Road in the South Cariboo because of the nearby Tin Cup Creek fire.
The lightning-caused fire was discovered Friday (July 17) and its an estimated 0.6 hectares in size. There are ground and aerial crews responding.
Properties on evacuation alert include 3640 to 4110 North Bonaparte Road, including the Boyd Bay campsite at Green Lake Provincial Park; 2248 Hutchison Road and 2253 Hutchison Road, as well as any other areas outlined on this map.
“This Evacuation Alert is in place to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary,” the TNRD said in a statement. “Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an Evacuation Order; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.”
