Danny McBride Set To Direct New ‘G.I. Joe’ Film At Paramount

Danny McBride will make his feature directorial debut with a new G.I. Joe movie at Paramount Pictures. McBride, who previously wrote the script, will now helm the project based on the classic Hasbro toy franchise. Plot details remain under wraps, though the film is considered a high studio priority. The new version will feature iconic characters including Duke, Roadblock, and Snake Eyes. Paramount previously released G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and a 2021 Snake Eyes spinoff. McBride is best known for creating and starring in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones and earlier hits Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals. He also co-wrote and produced the Halloween trilogy.
