Slow but steady rise in Kamloops unemployment
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops has seen a slow but steady rise in unemployment in the last few months, with another one per cent rise from May to June.
According to Statistics Canada, Kamloops reported a one per cent increase in unemployment between May and June of this year, rising from 5.9 per cent to 6.9 per cent.
Most of the statistics for Kamloops remained unchanged from month to month, with the number people working or looking for work staying at 65 per cent.
Stats Canada officials said this trend is reflected more broadly nationwide.
