Kamloops residents slow on completing 2026 census: Statistics Canada
KAMLOOPS — Census-takers with Statistics Canada are still active in Kamloops and across the country, gathering up data by reaching out to residents to make sure the forms are completed in time.
Follow-up activities have been ongoing since mid-May, with Statistics Canada employees reaching out via phone, email and in-person doorstep visits.
“Unfortunately, we are experiencing extremely low response rates locally, with many residents declining to participate or avoiding contact with our field staff,” said a statement from StatsCan.
“The census directly shapes your community’s future. Every response helps secure your fair share of federal and provincial funding for the vital services your residents rely on every day.”
