Blazers sign 16-year-old Alaskan forward Evan Zachgo

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have signed 16-year-old American forward Evan Zachgo to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Zachgo, a native of Delta Junction, Alaska, was was listed by the team in May and he was at Blazers spring development camp that same month.

The five-foot-11, 170lbs forward led the Sioux Falls Power 15U team in scoring with 77 points (35 goals and 42 assists in 65 games last season.

Zachgo is the sixth player born in 2010 to sign with the Blazers joining defencemen Mateo Ferreira and Chase Gill and forwards Teagen Bouchard, Brady Ondrus and Collin Kim. He’s also the fifth player born in the U.S. in either 2009 or 2010 to sign in Kamloops.
