Blazers athletic therapist Cochrane named to Team Canada staff at 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup

KAMLOOPS — Taylor Cochrane will be taking her talents to this summer’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

The Kamloops Blazers athletic therapist will serve in a similar role with Team Canada at the annual under-18 hockey tournament, which runs Aug. 3 to 8 in Edmonton.

Cochrane joined the Blazers last year after three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with Bonnyville and Camrose.

Canada will play Switzerland in its opening game of the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup on Aug. 3. It will face Slovakia on Aug. 4 and Sweden on Aug. 5 to close out the preliminary round, with the medal games scheduled for Aug. 8.

Team Canada will hold a training camp at the NAIT Arena in Edmonton July 27-30. It will include practices and a game against Sweden on July 30. Canada will also face Czechia on Aug. 1 as part of the pre-tournament schedule.

The roster for Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team training camp will be announced at a later date.

Dan De Palma, the Blazers director of goaltender development, won gold with Canada at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He also won back-to-back golds at the IIHF U18 Men’s World Championships in Texas and in Finland.
