Australian Prime Minister Apologizes For Saying He’d Have Sex With Kylie Minogue
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issued an unconditional apology following crude comments made about pop star Kylie Minogue on a comedy podcast. The 63-year-old appeared on “Bush Deep,” where host Nikki Osborne asked him to play a “shag, marry, date” game featuring Minogue, Nicole Kidman, and entertainer Rhonda Burchmore. Albanese, who became the first sitting Australian PM to marry in office when he wed Jodie Hayden last November, was asked to imagine his marriage had failed before responding, “Kylie, clearly — all of the above. She’s terrific.” Following online backlash, his office stated, “I apologize unequivocally for the comments.” Feminist group Collective Shout co-founder Melinda Tankard Reist said, “It’s beneath him as a man, as a leader of this country especially, and it sets a very bad example.”
