DEVELOPING: Police, sheriffs block access to Kamloops Law Courts
UPDATE (12:15 p.m.): RCMP say officers are investigating the credibility and source of a threat that prompted an evacuation of the Kamloops Courthouse.
“While responders are on scene, we are asking the public to please avoid the area while we investigate and collaborate with the BC Sheriff Service,” Cpl. Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson states in a brief news release.
EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — A notable police presence has halted access to the Kamloops Courthouse Monday (July 6) morning, but details are limited at this time.
Members of both the Kamloops RCMP and the B.C. Sheriff Service are blocking the entranceways to the courthouse on the 400-block of Columbia Street in downtown Kamloops.
