HAMILTON — Veteran quarterbacks Zach Collaros and Bo Levi Mitchell were both knocked out of Sunday’s CFL game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Winnipeg starter Collaros suffered an upper-body injury early in the second quarter that knocked him out of the contest. Collaros was sacked by Hamilton’s Reggie Stubblefield and was able to walk off the field and remained on the sidelines with his helmet on but rookie Taylor Elgersma took over as the Bombers starter.

At halftime, a Bombers official said the 37-year-old Collaros wouldn’t return to the contest.

Then at 3:24 of the third, Winnipeg’s Jake Ceresna sacked Mitchell, Hamilton’s starter, and came down on Mitchell’s left leg. Mitchell, 36, was treated by medical personnel on the field before being placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance that had come on to the field.
