KAMLOOPS — Saturday (June 29) marked a first for Kamloops United FC.

Kamloops’ semi-pro women’s soccer club defeated Burnaby FC on the road 1-0. A free kick from Priya Dos Santos took a touch off a Burnaby player and in for an own goal.

It was the second win of the 2026 B.C. Premier League (BCPL) season for Kamloops United FC’s women’s team. It’s the first time they’ve won two BCPL/League1 BC matches in a single season.

Dating back to their days as Rivers FC when they began play in 2022, Kamloops United FC’s women’s team has had one win per season.

The men’s side was not as fortunate in Burnaby on Saturday. Tano Torchia scored Kamloops United FC’s lone goal in an 8-1 blowout to Burnaby FC.

Kamloops United FC’s women’s team sits seventh in the BCPL table with two wins, eight losses and two draws in 12 matches, good for eight points. The men sit at the bottom of the table with one win, nine losses and two draws in 12 matches, good for five points.

Kamloops United FC conclude their season this week. The women will host Vancouver Rise FC’s academy team at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3 from Hillside Stadium while the men will host Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s academy team later that night at 7:30 p.m.

Both Kamloops United FC squads will host Nanaimo United FC Sunday, July 5 from Hillside Stadium. The women will kick off early at 11:00 a.m. while the men will follow suite at 1:30 p.m.
