Kamloopa Powwow weekend gets underway Friday night

TK’EMLUPS te SECWEPEMC — The 45th annual Kamloopa Powwow is set to take over the Tkʼemlúps Powwow Arbour this weekend, starting Friday night (June 26).

The three-day event is hosted through the Kamloopa Powwow Society, bringing in thousands of attendees, dancers, singers, drummers and vendors every year. With more than 500 dancers and drummers registered, Kamloopa is one of the largest powwows in North America.

Parking is available in the parking lots surrounding the arbour, with free transit shuttles at the Finning parking lot (1351 Kootenay Way) going to and from the event. Tickets can be purchased on site.
