Kamloops RCMP seeking downtown graffiti suspects

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying a pair of suspects who are believed to have tagged a mural in the 200-block of Fourth Avenue downtown earlier this month.


Police say incident happened some time overnight on Friday, June 12, and it was reported to the detachment on Sunday, June 14

In a statement, police say video of the area helped police identify the two suspects believed to be responsible for tagging the Red Bridge Raven Mural with spray paint.

“The mural sustained significant damage and repair costs are estimated to be between $1,500 and $2,000,” RCMP S/Sgt. Andy Lot said. “Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes either individual, or who may have information related to this incident, to contact police.”

The first suspect is described as a wearing dark clothing, which included a hooded jacket and footwear. They were carrying what police believe to be spray paint.

The second suspect is described as wearing a dark hooded sweater, shorts, socks and shoes. This person was carrying a white tote bag with a large graphic on the side.

People with information about either suspect or the incident in general are asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2026-19040. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
