Elderly man assaulted at downtown Kamloops bus exchange; RCMP looking for suspect
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking to identify a suspect who was reportedly involved in an unprovoked attack of a man in his 70s earlier this month.
RCMP say they were told of an assault at the Lansdowne Bus Exchange in downtown Kamloops between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on June 5.
RCMP say the elderly man was seated and waiting for a bus when the suspect allegedly, without provocation, approached him and struck him in the face. Police add the man was seriously injured, and the suspect left the scene.
In a news release issued late Thursday (June 18) afternoon, S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says police are releasing a surveillance photo of the suspect in hopes to further the investigation.
