KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is encouraging residents to get engaged with their community, learn about local government and inform their votes for the 2026 General Local Election.

The city said its newly launched ‘Love Your City’ campaign aims to to encourage residents to take pride in their community by educating voters and potential city council candidates about the role of local government and city council’s responsibilities and jurisdiction.

“Our goal is to empower voters to feel confident about their votes this fall,” said Kristen Rodrigue, the city’s communications and strategic partnerships director.

“Every person’s ballot carries the same weight. Election results are the most reflective of the community’s wants and values when voter turnout is high and electors are engaged in the process and with their community.”
