Mike Myers confirmed a fourth Austin Powers movie is happening during Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party after a fan asked directly about the long-rumored sequel. Myers gave a simple “yes” response without providing additional details about timeline or plot. The comedian previously expressed interest in another installment but remained noncommittal until now. He has indicated wanting the new film to focus heavily on Dr. Evil character. Director Jay Roach told Deadline in 2020 he would return if Myers found inspiring material. The Austin Powers franchise has earned over half a billion dollars globally since launching. The last film, Goldmember, was released in 2002.
