Police identify suspect, looking for person of interest in two suspicious fires in Williams Lake
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP are investigating a pair of suspicious fires in the city over the last week.
At around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday (June 13), RCMP say officers responded to the 900-block of Mackenze Avenue South where a Ford E350 van was found with significant fire damage. According to police, the Williams Lake Fire Department responded to the vehicle fire, and crews believe it’s suspicious in nature.
RCMP are looking for a person of interest who was seen in the area around the time the van fire started. They’re described as a clean-shaven Indigenous man in his 30s wearing dark track pants, a blue scarf or bandana over his face, black shoes and a black-coloured backpack, ballcap and T-shirt.
The person of interest was also seen riding a black, red and silver hardtail mountain bike.
