‘Love Island USA’ Executive Producer James Barker Dies At 40 While Filming In Fiji

James Barker, executive producer of Love Island USA, died at age 40 after suffering an unexpected medical emergency while filming in Fiji last week, according to ITV America and Peacock. Barker joined the hit reality dating show in 2020 as a story producer and worked his way up to executive producer for the last three seasons. “James was the absolute light and love of my life,” said his partner Adam Roth. “He brought joy and brilliance to everything he touched.” Barker will be honored in Tuesday’s episode. He previously worked on other shows including Queer Eye, Counting Cars, and Pawn Stars, and spent 20 years DJing nationwide.
