Gene Shalit, the beloved movie critic for NBC’s Today show, died Friday at age 100. His family confirmed he “passed away peacefully today after 100 years of an amazing life,” calling his Today show tenure “an extraordinary era for him.” Shalit joined Today in 1970 as a part-time contributor and served as its film and book critic until 2010. Elizabeth Olsen is pregnant with her first child. The 37-year-old WandaVision actress was recently photographed in Los Angeles wearing a slightly unbuttoned shirt that revealed her apparent baby bump. Apple TV announced Thursday that its mystery-comedy series Widow’s Bay will return for a second season. The show features Matthew Rhys as the mayor of a cursed island located off the Massachusetts coast. Margaret Kerry, who served as the live-action model for Tinker Bell in Disney’s 1953 film Peter Pan, died at age 97 on Thursday in North Carolina from lung cancer. Kerry appeared in The Lone Ranger, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Ruggles, where she played Sharon Ruggles. She also voiced a mermaid in Peter Pan. Kerry is survived by her three children. A federal judge in New York has ordered Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties to pay Blake Lively’s legal fees, marking a new turn in the It Ends With Us dispute. The judge approved Lively’s request but rejected her bid for punitive or treble damages. Lively and Baldoni had sued each other for defamation and other claims, but the cases were dismissed. Ronnie Schell, the last surviving cast member from Gomer Pyle: USMC, died Friday in L.A. from natural causes. He was 94. Schell played Pvt. Duke Slater, Gomer Pyle’s best friend, for 92 episodes of the CBS sitcom.
