KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops are asking for help in identifying a suspect linked to an indecent act investigation at a thrift store in the 900-block of Columbia Street West last month.

In a statement, Kamloops RCMP said a woman in the store shopping just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, when she “felt someone staring at her and turned to observe a male allegedly masturbating in the aisle near her.”

Police said the suspect was seen leaving the parking lot in a late model, silver Honda Civic after he “realized the woman had seen him.”

“To date, police have been unable to identify the male and are now releasing a photo to further the investigation,” Kamloops RCMP S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in a statement.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30-years of age. He was about six feet tall with a medium build and had brown hair and a short, dark, beard. At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a floral button up shirt and gold rimmed sunglasses.

RCMP are asking people with information to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment and cite file 2026-16921.
