It’s to reduce wildfire risks, restore forest ecosystems and improve the long-term health and resilience of forests in the province.
For 2026-27, the Logan Lake Community Forest Corporation received $1,090,000 for fuel treatments while Sun Peaks Resort Municipality received $310,000 for wildfire risk reduction treatments.
Elsewhere, the Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society received $373,000 for East Barriere Lake wildfire risk reduction efforts.
