Zac Efron To Star In HBO And A24’s ‘Angel Heart’ Drama Series

Zac Efron will star in and executive produce Angel Heart, a one-hour drama series from HBO and A24. Written and executive produced by Black Rabbit creator Zach Baylin, the show adapts the 1978 horror novel Falling Angel and its sequel Angel’s Inferno. The original book was previously adapted into the 1987 film starring Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro. The series follows a struggling NYC paparazzi who photographs people avoiding publicity. He’s hired by a mysterious man to find a missing woman, but his investigation reveals powerful elites and possibly supernatural forces covering up her disappearance. Efron previously worked with A24 on 2023’s The Iron Claw.
