Kamloops Fire Rescue knock down North Shore structure fire

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) made quick work of a shed fire on the North Shore Friday (May 29) morning. 

Reports of a structure fire at Don Street off Tranquille Road on the North Shore of Kamloops came in at around 7:00 a.m.

“The initial response from our first crew was to make sure the fire didn’t spread to the duplex, which is about 10 feet away. They knocked the fire down quickly and made sure it didn’t spread,” KFR Captain Jamie Chase told CFJC Today.

No injuries were reported following the fire although Chase notes that a BC Hydro pole suffered some damage. BC Hydro is assessing its equipment but no power outages have transpired due to the fire.
