TRU, Williams Lake agree to work together on future of local campus
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Thompson Rivers University and the City of Williams Lake have signed a preliminary agreement that could ultimately secure the school’s future in the Cariboo city.
In a news release issued Wednesday (May 27), TRU president Airini says the two parties have signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU), two months after TRU’s board of governors voted to begin a consultation process on the future of the Williams Lake campus.
The vote came after the board was told the Williams Lake campus has lost about $3.4 million per year over the past four years.
