One person dead in vehicle collision that closes North Shore intersection overnight

KAMLOOPS — One person is dead following a vehicle collision on the North Shore overnight. 

Details are slim early Tuesday (May 26) morning but Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Joe Bayda confirmed the collision and fatality at 12th Street and Tranquille Road.

BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) confirmed to CFJC Today that three ambulances responded to the intersection at 12th and Tranquille shortly before 11:00 p.m. Monday. EHS says paramedics cared for one patient on scene.

Bayda told CFJC Today that traffic is flowing at the intersection as of 5:20 a.m. Tuesday with the exception of the north side of 12th Street. However, he says the entire intersection is expected to reopen within the next hour.
