Kamloops receives just under half-a-million dollars in FireSmart grant funding
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is getting nearly half-a-million dollars in grant funding to advance FireSmart initiatives.
The first grant administered through the Community Resiliency Investment Program will be split between this and next year, with the city receiving $200,000 in each installment.
“To expand the city’s FireSmart program by expanding staffing, reviewing bylaw and policies, managing green spaces, increasing education and expanding emergency preparedness and events,” said FireSmart Liaison Kathleen Cahoon.
