BTS Claims Top Honor At 2026 American Music Awards

BTS won artist of the year at last night’s American Music Awards in Las Vegas, marking their first awards show appearance in four years. The K-pop group also took home song of the summer for “SWIM.” KATSEYE won new artist of the year and breakthrough pop artist, while Huntrix earned song of the year for “Golden.” Sombr dominated the rock categories, winning best rock/alternative song and album. The Black Eyed Peas won best throwback song for “Rock That Body,” with Fergie reuniting with the group. SZA won best female R&B artist, and Sam Barber earned breakthrough country artist. Karol G received the International Artist Award of Excellence from John Legend. Performers included Lifetime Achievement award winner Billy Idol, as well as New Kids On The Block, Keith Urban, Riley Green, Twenty One Pilots and more. Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
