Single-vehicle crash knocks out power for over 1,200 Kamloops residents

KAMLOOPS — BC Hydro said 1,285 customers in the Westside of Kamloops were without power for over six hours Friday afternoon (May 22) due to a single-vehicle accident.

Kamloops RCMP officials said a vehicle struck a power pole and knocked the lines down along Batchelor Drive, just north of Westsyde Road.

Police said no injuries were reported, but the driver also struck a parked vehicle.

Batchelor Drive was closed between Westsyde Road and North River Drive while crews were on the scene.
