Williams Lake RCMP seeking assault witnesses

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP are seeking any witnesses to an assault that happened on Monday (May 18).

Police officials said officers were called to the hospital after an individual went for treatment of a minor laceration.

Investigators determined that the injury may have been the result of an assault.

Williams Lake RCMP believe the incident happened in the 700-block of Borland Street some time between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Officers have yet to find a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.

“Police have conducted canvassing efforts in the area and have identified some persons of interest; however, investigators are still looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information,” said Williams Lake RCMP.

The victim has been treated and released from the hospital and RCMP officials said they are expected to make a full recovery.
