Spotify Launches ‘Reserved’ Feature To Help Superfans Get Concert Tickets
Spotify has announced “Reserved,” a new feature that sets aside concert tickets for premium subscribers who are artists’ biggest fans. The streaming service will partner with Live Nation to identify dedicated fans using streams, shares and other platform activity, then reserve up to two tickets per selected fan. Those chosen get a day-long window to purchase tickets this summer when the program launches. “Getting concert tickets today can feel like a race you’re set up to lose,” Spotify stated, addressing fan frustration with endless refreshing and missing out despite showing up on time. The company acknowledges “there will be significantly more superfans than there are seats available on a tour, so not every fan will receive an offer.” Spotify hasn’t revealed participating artists or how many tickets will be reserved per show.
