Lillooet emergency department to close for second Saturday in a row

LILLOOET, B.C. — Interior Health officials said Lillooet Hospital emergency department will be closed this weekend.

IH says emergency services will be unavailable from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday (May 23) to 8:00 a.m. Sunday (May 24), but all other inpatient services will remain operational.

In the meantime, patients can access care at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, which is a two-hour drive away.

IH said people in the community who need life-threatening emergency care should call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
