Man rescued near Chase after spending two days trapped in a crashed vehicle
CHASE, B.C. — A man was rescued near Chase Tuesday (May 19) after being trapped in his overturned vehicle for two days.
According to Chase RCMP, the man was last seen on Sunday and was reported missing by his family on Tuesday. Shortly after receiving the report, RCMP say they were told of a vehicle incident on a forest service road near the village.
BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) say they received a call about the incident on Niskonlith Lake Road and McGillivray Lake Forest Service Road at around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. Brian Twaites, BCEHS paramedic public information officer, told CFJC Today two ambulances responded – one with primary care paramedics and another with advanced care paramedics and a supervisor.
In a news release issued Wednesday, RCMP say first responders, including BCEHS and Sun Peaks Fire Rescue, found the vehicle rolled down a steep embankment.
