TIME magazine unveiled its inaugural TIME100 Philanthropy list on Thursday, honoring notable leaders in charitable work. Rihanna earned recognition in the Trailblazers section for her Clara Lionel Foundation, established in 2012 after her grandmother’s cancer death. The organization has donated over $100 million to causes including climate change, education, and healthcare. Elton John and husband David Furnish were honored for decades fighting HIV/AIDS through the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Shakira made the list for education efforts in Colombia, training hundreds of thousands of teachers and building schools via her Barefoot Foundation. Willie Nelson was recognized for cofounding Farm Aid and raising millions for disaster relief and veterans. Chance The Rapper earned honors for supporting Chicago public schools through his SocialWorks nonprofit.
