Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are producing a Netflix film adaptation of No Way Out: The Searing True Story Of Men Under Siege, an Afghan war memoir. The book follows British Major Adam Jowett commanding Easy Company in Afghanistan during July 2006. Oscar-nominated Bridge Of Spies writer Matt Charman is penning the script. The project marks part of Archewell Productions’ first-look deal with Netflix after their overall agreement expired. Harry served two Afghanistan tours during his British Army decade. The 2019 Pan Macmillan memoir earned a 4.6-star Amazon rating, with war reporter Martin Bell calling it “vivid and brilliantly written.” The couple’s previous credits include Heart Of Invictus, Live To Lead, and The Me You Can’t See. Variety has previously reported tensions between the royal couple and Netflix over the poor performance of their content.
