Blazers sign BCHL forward Arnason

KAMLOOPS — Along with the North and South Thompson, a third River will meet in Kamloops. 

The Kamloops Blazers announced they have signed 2008-born forward River Arnason ahead of the 2026-27 Western Hockey League (WHL) season. 

Arnason spent the 2025-26 season with the Prince George Spruce Kings in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). The youngest player on the Spruce Kings, Arnason scored nine goals and 24 points in 42 games, good for 10th in overall team scoring. 

The 18-year-old added three goals and eight points in 17 playoff games, helping the Spruce Kings advance to the BCHL Coastal Conference Final.
