Jimmy Kimmel To Air Rerun On Stephen Colbert’s Final Night Out Of Respect

Jimmy Kimmel will air a repeat of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on May 21st, the same night Stephen Colbert hosts his final Late Show on CBS after 11 seasons. ABC confirmed Kimmel chose to run a rerun “out of deference to Colbert’s sendoff,” following the same gesture he made for David Letterman’s final show in May 2015. Colbert’s final week features notable guests including Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver on May 11th, reuniting the “Strike Force Five” podcast team. Letterman will appear May 14th. Other farewell guests include Tom Hanks, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Pedro Pascal. CBS canceled The Late Show in July 2025, calling it a “financial decision” amid Paramount’s sale to Skydance Media, though the widespread belief throughout Hollywood believes Colbert’s Trump criticism was the real motivation.
