CPKC moving 125 jobs to Kamloops as high costs force workers away from Revelstoke
KAMLOOPS — Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is moving more than 100 employees to Kamloops because of the high costs of housing in Revelstoke.
CPKC confirmed the move to CFJC Today, saying it is in the process of relocating approximately 125 employees like conductors and engineers to Kamloops. No date was provided but this relocation west is expected to take place by this summer.
“With the high cost of living and especially housing in Revelstoke, many CPKC employees have requested transfers or resigned,” spokesperson Terry Cunha said in a statement. “CPKC is making these transfers to meet the needs of our workers, address employee shortages in Revelstoke and improve operational efficiency.”
