BCWS gains control of 100 Mile House-area wildfires
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has contained a pair of wildfires in the 100 Mile House area after they sparked on Wednesday.
The 37.5-hectare Chasm Creek wildfire is now being held by BCWS firefighters, meaning officials do not expect it to grow past current containment lines.
BCWS officials said 38 personnel are responding to the blaze, with air support as needed.
“Crews and heavy equipment have established a guard around the entire perimeter of the wildfire. Crews have established a hose lay around the perimeter of the wildfire and are completing a 100-foot wetline, working in from the established guard,” said the BCWS
