Kamloops Music Collective to benefit from Saturday fundraiser at Tumbleweed Toys

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Music Collective is partnering with Tumbleweed Toys on a fundraiser and raffle this Saturday (May 9).

Rachel Reid, the program coordinator for the Kamloops Music Collective, says people can use the code ‘KMC26’ between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Saturday to donate all Tumbleweed Toys VIP points from in-store and online purchases to help support music education in the ecosystem.

“We’re raising funds to buy musical theatre equipment because our musical theatre program is growing every year,” Reid said. “We decided to invest long term in that program and buy light boards, sound boards, light towers, pipe and drapes. It’s all the good stuff.”

The Kamloops Music Collective offers year round programming for school-aged students, and proceeds from this fundraiser will support programs like the Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM) in July and Set The Stage!, which runs over spring break.

“This fundraiser is really important because around town we’re finding there is a gap in music and musical theatre programs,” Reid added, noting they’re hoping to raise about $1,000 on Saturday.

“We just want to bring our best foot forward and provide those opportunities for all youth in our community.”
