Kamloops Councillor Sarai to serve as SILGA president for 2026-27

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops councillor will serve as the head of the Southern Interior Local Government Association (SILGA) executive over the next year. 

Bill Sarai was elected as SILGA president for the 2026-27 term, according to a social media post from Kamloops councillor Nancy Bepple. The vote was held during SILGA’s annual general meeting and convention, this year taking place in Revelstoke from April 29 to May 2. 

Sarai, a two-term city councillor, served as SILGA’s first vice-president during the 2025-26 term. 

SILGA is comprised of elected officials from 37 cities, districts, regional districts, towns and villages in south central B.C.
