KAMLOOPS — A second person has admitted to misleading the court during a Kamloops manslaughter trial seven years ago.

In BC Supreme Court Tuesday (April 28), Sarah Hupe pleaded guilty to one count of perjury by false statement with intent to mislead.

The misleading statement took place in March 2019, during the manslaughter trial of James David Bond, Hupe’s former boyfriend. Bond was facing a manslaughter charge in the December 30, 2016 beating death of 42-year-old Sean Dunn outside The Duchess nightclub on Tranquille Road. The violent confrontation followed a drunken argument apparently centering around Hupe.

Bond was acquitted of a manslaughter charge but four years later, he and Hupe were charged with perjury.
