Small wildfire reported near Ashcroft Terminal

UPDATE (April 28): The BCWS says the wildfire near the Ashcroft Terminal is under control at 1.64 hectares, meaning it’s not projected to spread beyond its current perimeter.

EARLIER: ASHCROFT, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is reporting a new wildfire start adjacent to the Ashcroft Terminal, just across the river from the village itself.

According to BCWS, the small fire was discovered earlier Monday (April 27) and is just south of the rail terminal and east of Ashcroft.

The fire was measured at 0.5 hectares as of mid-afternoon Monday.
