KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are seeking information about a man who is believed to have crashed his vehicle into a pair of houses.

Police officials said the detachment received a call just before noon on Saturday (April 25) about a white SUV colliding with two homes in the 600-block of Arbutus Street.

Officers arrived to find the SUV on its side between the two damaged homes. A woman passenger remained in the vehicle, but the driver fled the scene.

“Witnesses at the scene described the driver as, a Caucasian male, approximately 40-years-old, wearing a green shirt, black pants, 5’10 and 190 pounds, with balding hair,” said S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

“He was last seen running westbound from the collision.”

RCMP officials said a police dog aided in an extensive search, but the man was not found.

Police are asking any potential witnesses to come forward.

“The investigation is continuing, and police are asking area residents to review their CCTV footage between 11:25 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to ascertain if it caught either the collision or any person who may match the driver’s description,” said Shoihet.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2026-12417.
