‘Coyote Vs. Acme’ Trailer Released, Years After Warner Bros. Cancellation
The trailer for Coyote Vs. Acme has been released before its August 28th theatrical debut, nearly three years after Warner Bros. canceled the completed film. The live-action animation hybrid follows Wile E. Coyote as he sues the Acme Corporation for defective products that failed during his attempts to catch the Road Runner. Will Forte stars as Coyote’s attorney while John Cena plays opposing counsel. The other Looney Tunes all co-star. The screenplay by Samy Burch adapts a 1990 New Yorker article imagining legal action against Acme. Originally developed for HBO Max with a reported $70 million budget, Warner Bros. scrapped the finished film in 2023 under CEO David Zaslav. The decision followed similar cancellations of a Batgirl movie and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. Ketchup Entertainment acquired the film for a reported $50 million in 2025, enabling the global theatrical release.
