‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Maintains Lead At Weekend Box Office

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie held onto the number one box office position during its third weekend, collecting $35 million. The year’s top-earning film has already earned $355.2 million in domestic revenue and $747.5 million worldwide. Project Hail Mary secured second place in its fifth frame, adding $20.5 million to reach $285.1 million domestically for the science fiction adventure. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy debuted in third with $13.5 million during its opening weekend. A24’s relationship comedy The Drama, featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, claimed fourth place with $4.8 million in its third weekend, bringing the indie production’s total to $39.7 million. Universal’s romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany rounded out the top five, earning $3.8 million.
