KAMLOOPS — A stretch of Pacific Way south of Hugh Allen Drive will remain closed until at least the 9:00 a.m. hour Monday (April 20) after an early morning collision.

Tk’emlups Rural RCMP responded to the report of a break and enter into a storage compound in Savona at around 4:15 a.m. Monday where a travel trailer was hooked up and towed away.

In a news release issued at around 8:00 a.m. Monday, Kamloops RCMP say police later found the truck and stolen trailer in the city and carried out a traffic stop.

“The driver of the truck and trailer allegedly rammed a police vehicle in an attempt to flee,” Cpl. Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson says.  “While the police vehicle was damaged, the officer was not injured. The truck then crashed into a fence causing damage, and as a result Pacific Way will be closed for approximately another hour this morning.”
