KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) put out an interface fire along Hillside Drive over the weekend.

KFR says firefighters received the call of a 100-by-50-foot fire near the parking lot across from Aberdeen Mall at around 4:35 p.m. Sunday (April 19) and were on scene until at least 5:00 p.m.

According to KFR Platoon Chief Kris Krutop, crews used a bush truck, an engine and two water tenders to respond to the fire. Nearly 2,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire.

No injuries or damage to property were reported. Krutop says the cause of the fire is unknown and KFR investigators will be back on scene Monday.
