REVELSTOKE, B.C. — A reported school safety concern involving a student in Revelstoke was determined to be unfounded by police.

At around 5:00 p.m. Monday (April 13), Revelstoke RCMP say they were told by a school principal that a student allegedly made indirect statements indicating potential harm to other students the following day.

In a news release issued Tuesday, RCMP say officers met with the Revelstoke student, their parents and school administration and determined there was no threat to public safety.

“The safety of students and staff is a top priority,” S/Sgt, Chris Dodds, Revelstoke RCMP Detachment Commander says. “We take all reports of this nature seriously and work closely with our education and community partners to ensure appropriate steps are taken.”
